The Wenger family of Kids and Cultures will share fun folktales from around the world, followed by related activities from the cultures that have passed along the tales. Have fun learning about part of the water cycle from other cultures' perspectives, in this interactive storytime that fits in with summer reading program's Make A Splash theme! 7th Annual Kids and Cultures Camp Concludes
Seventy-eight children participated in a week (or two) of stories, music, crafts, games, snacks, and guests from other countries at the seventh annual Kids and Cultures Camp which was held the last two full weeks of June. Campers "visited" a different country each day and created their own travel scrapbooks.
This year's Camp destinations were Hawaii, Italy, Venezuela, Egypt, India, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Haiti, Ecuador, and Syria. Kids and Cultures Camp was held at Lancaster Country Day School, Lancaster, Pa., a new location for the Camp.

Taste the World fundraising event returns
Our May 21 Taste the World walking and sampling tour in Lancaster, Pa, was a great success! The event sold out and we raised more than $5,000 for the programs of Kids and Cultures. We thank everyone, especially the generous restaurants and volunteers who helped to make this event possible. The next Taste the World is scheduled for Friday, September 10, 2010. [Details]
Kids and Cultures launches cultural sampling coupon book
From the success of two Taste the World events in 2009, Kids and Cultures is launching a coupon book as a way for you and your friends to experience the tastes of the world over the course of a year.
At 13 cultural restaurants and bakeries in the City of Lancaster, Pa., you will receive free samples of their specialties (a $40 value!), plus generous coupon offers for menu items (an additional $40 value!). The coupons are valid any hours that the restaurants are open until December 31, 2010.
